The City is hosting its two Olympic athletes at a Welcome Home Celebration next week.
On Wednesday, April 4th, gold medal skiier Kelsey Serwa and snowboarder Tess Critchlow will be recognized in Stuart Park from 3:30 to 5.
"It's inspiring, first and foremost, for us to be able to see local athletes do well on the world scene," says Sport & Event Services Manager Doug Nicholas. "But I think also it kind of sets up a whole new generation of youth to participate in sport and lifelong activity, and just to dream bit.
The public will get a chance to meet these two homegrown athletes during a meet and greet session, with the City promising activities for the whole family at the free event.
Mayor Colin Basran will be hosting a Q and A session with Serwa and Critchlow, which will be broadcasted live on the City's Facebook channel.
