Kelowna's Olympic champion Kelsey Serwa will be back in the Okanagan this weekend for a homecoming celebration.
Serwa took gold in ski cross at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games, and will celebrate with fans at Big White Ski Resort on Sunday, April 1st from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the village.
Serwa and teammate Brittany Phelan finished 1-2 at the event - and afterwards - Serwa said there was the temptation to never remove those medals again.
"I remember the first night that Brit and I came home after the medal ceremony, and she was like 'I'm going to sleep with it' and I said 'Brit, No, you can't. Go hang it over your bed, you'll see it in the morning'", said Serwa laughing.
Serwa said it'll be great sharing her win with the ski community at Big White, and with friends and family in Kelowna, who she feels were a huge part of her gold medal victory.
"There were a few times where I considered retiring, but ultimately it was the belief from other people that convinced myself to believe in myself further, and that I still had unfinished business to do in this sport, and I have everyone to thank for that," said Kelsey.

On Sunday at 1:45 pm, you can also take a victory lap with Kelsey down the Serwa run, named after grandfather Cliff, who co-founded the resort in 1963.
