Starting this Saturday, August 4th, Knox Mountain Drive will be completely closed to vehicle traffic due to the extreme fire rating in the area.
The only access permitted into the park will be by foot or bike until the fire rating improves.
There’s still a fire ban in effect, meaning smoking is prohibited in all public spaces and parks. This also means that campfires and barbecues are not allowed in the City or any of its parks.
Anyone who sees smoke or fire in a park is asked to call 9-1-1, or reach out to the BC Wildfire Management Branch by dialing *5-5-5-5.
