Kelowna RCMP say they think the Knox mountain fire was started by a person.
On Sunday, the fire started above the second lookout just after 2 pm, which was around the time witnesses told police that they saw someone walking away from the scene.
While fire crews worked, police set up a perimeter with provincial crews, to identify as many people in the area as possible.
Officers also patrolled the area in a helicopter, and on the ground with the police dog unit.
Multiple descriptions were provided to police, as investigators are trying to identify people who may have been responsible.
Anyone with information can contact RCMP, or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
