On July 4th, 2020, at 10:30 p.m., Lake Country RCMP received a complaint of an assault with a weapon.
The victim stated that he had witnessed a vehicle driving erratically in Lake Country and followed it. The suspect vehicle stopped on Reiswig Road in Lake Country.
A man got out, ran over to the victim’s vehicle an sprayed what is believed to be bear mace through the open passenger window. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Lake Country RCMP has since arrested a 23-year-old Lake Country man in this matter. He has been released on conditions for a future court date. The search continues for a second man believed to have been involved.
“This case highlights the importance of calling police if you think there’s a danger to your community,” says Cpl Jocelyn Noseworthy of the Kelowna RCMP. “You never know who you’re dealing with or the potential danger you may face.”
