A Lake Country man, charged in the death of his wife, is scheduled to make a court appearance this morning in Kelowna.
RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says police initially thought Lambertus Westervelt's wife drowned while canoeing in Okanagan Lake in June 2016 - but he says it's now believed Arlene Westervelt was a victim of homicide.
Her body was found by a police dive team a day after she went missing following a picnic by the shore.
Lambertus Westervelt has been charged with second-degree murder.
