Beginning Monday June 29, Glenmore Road from Kane Road to Begbie Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction to accommodate milling and paving of the section.
Weather dependent, completion is expected by Monday, July 15.
Travelers are encouraged to plan their commute and consider an alternate route during road work. Transit will continue to operate on its regular schedule but will be making stops in the travel lane. Speed through the construction zone will be reduced to 30km/h.
This project is one of several road segments that are included in the City’s annual Pavement Management Program which prioritizes the repair of city roads. The mill and fill treatment applied on this section of Glenmore Road will extend the road surface life by 15 to 20 years.
The City of Kelowna and workers on site appreciate the patience of residents, businesses and motorists while road work is underway. Noise due to the road resurfacing is expected.
