Kelowna firefighters prevented a blaze at a Rutland woodworking company from becoming much worse on Friday evening.
When crews arrived just before 7:40 pm at Heartland Millworks on Webster Road - heavy flames and smoke were coming from half of the large building.
Firefighters managed to save one half of the structure and the machinery inside - but the other half suffered major damage.
There was no-one in the building - but it did contain some highly flammable materials: about 150 gallons of assorted acetone, paint thinners and lacquer's where in or near building during the fire.
Fire officials believe the blaze started in the staining/finishing area - and were to continue investigating Saturday.
