Despite the controversial decision to postpone the Canada Day fireworks due to the flooding along Okanagan Lake, Festivals Kelowna says the wait will be well worth it.
Director Renata Mills says the fireworks Saturday night, during the BC Day long weekend, will conclude a great day of activities in the downtown core.
"The fireworks will shoot at 9:30 pm. A vantage point along the lake front along City Park and Waterfront is your best bet".
Close to 21 thousand dollars has been allocated for the fireworks.
"We are working at having speakers set up so people can hear the music that we have arranged to have cheoregraphed to the light show. It is going to be a represenatation of Canadian culture from coast to coast", Mills added.
The city of Vernon spent close to 40,000 dollars for fireworks on Canada Day while Penticton earmarked close to 20 grand or fireworks on the same day to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday.
