Earlier this week, Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau said he's now open to a wide range of changes to the Liberal's proposed tax reforms.
After holding wide public consultations, Morneau said it's possible alterations will be needed in every aspect of the reform plan.
On AM 1150's 'Early Edition" today, Kelowna-Lake Country MP Stephen Fuhr said there were good intentions behind making the tax system more fair - and they'll continue working towards that goal.
"There is a responsible way forward that recognizes a fairer tax system that doesn't upset the apple cart with small business and entreprenuers, and I think they get the message now, and we're still working behind the scenes to make sure that this does not stifle small business and entreprenuers," he said.
Fuhr couldn't give a date as to when the government will come back with a revamped package, but said the Liberals will move quickly to clear up any lingering uncertainty.
"I can't tell you a date, but I can tell you they are aware of uncertainty as being another aspect of this that is not ideal, and they will work quickly to come back with a solution that is better than the one they had the first time, and recognizes the incredible importance of small business and entreprenuers in the country," he said.
The government has said tax advantages, unfairly exploited by some wealthy business owners, need to be removed - while opponents of the plan contend the changes will hurt middle-class business owners and damage the economy.
