A police raid on a home in the 1500 block of Elm Street in Kelowna resulted in the seizure of drugs and charges being laid against a local man.
Kelowna RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says last Friday, officers from several units executed a search warrant at the home and arrested a man and two women inside.
He says quantities of cocaine, heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine and illicit pills were seized - along with a replica handgun, a can of bear spray, drug trafficking items and cash.
"The suspect male was identified by investigators as a 59-year-old Kelowna man and deemed to be in breach of his probation order. He was held in custody over the weekend and faces potential charges," he says.
O'Donaghey says the two women were later released without being charged.
The other police operation occurred in Lake Country at the Airport Inn also last Friday.
RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says a search of a motel room by Lake Country and Kelowna police turned up 5.5 ounces of cocaine, an ounce of hash and $4,000 in cash.
"A 63-year-old Lake Country man was arrested without incident inside the motel room. He faces potential drug-related charges and is expected to appear in court on a later date," he says.
O'Donaghey says a 25-year-old West Kelowna man, seen leaving the motel room, was also arrested and found in possession of illicit drugs.
He also faces charges, and is expected to appear in court at a future date.
