A Black Lives Matter March wove its way through downtown Kelowna Friday evening where more than 50 people took part.
Ola Zuri was there, a black woman whom has lived in the Okanagan for 21 years.
She has experienced racism firsthand, "It's only in the last couple of years that more people of colour have moved here and it's a bonus, because now we see a little bit more and it helps. It helps, but it doesn't help. There's still racism in Canada, however, it's subtle."
Zuri says it's important that if we want things to change -- we have to be part of it.
