A male skier was airlifted off the mountain at Silver Star resort on Wednesday after he was caught in an avalanche.
There's no word on the extent of any injuries he may have suffered.
The slide happened just after noon on a double-black diamond run at Putnam Creek.
As a precaution the resort closed all lifts and runs for the rest of the day yesterday.
SilverStar officials say the frontside re-opened Thursday morning for regular hours - but the Putnam Creek area on the backside will remain closed until further notice.
On Monday, Avalanche Canada issued a special public warning for recreational backcountry users that's still in effect for much of BC and Alberta - they're warning to stay out of those areas.
It says big temperature increases this week have created high risk conditions.
