A 54-year-old West Kelowna man is in the hospital being treated for serious injuries after an alleged fist fight caused by road rage on Tuesday evening.
It’s believed that two drivers in the area of Bernard Avenue and Ellis Street in downtown Kelowna got into a dispute, got out of their vehicles, and started fighting until the West Kelowna man was knocked out.
Kelowna RCMP arrived at the scene to find the 54-year-old man unconscious on the roadway. A 37-year-old man from south central BC, believed to have been part of the fight, was still at the site of the alleged altercation.
The 54-year-old man was taken to hospital while the 37-year-old man was taken into police custody without incident. The latter was released later on, and does not currently face any criminal charges.
Police are still investigating the incident, and are asking any witnesses to come forward by contacting Constable Ian Grim of the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section at 250-762-3300.
