A man will be undergoing surgery soon after being shot in the eye by a BB gun in Kelowna last month.
On Wednesday, April 18th, the man was walking with his wife along Bernard Avenue, when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his eye.
Upon returning to his hotel room, he saw that his face was bloodied.
He sought medical treatment the next day, and doctors discovered what appeared to be a BB gun pellet embedded in the back of his eye.
Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey called the incident a potentially life-altering event.
“At this time we’re unable to determine whether this was an intentional act of violence or negligent in nature,” says O’Donaghey. “Regardless, we believe that some member of the public has knowledge of this incident, and we’re urging them to come speak to police.”
Anyone with information of the incident is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, or remain anonymous by leaving a tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
