A 31-year-old seasonal worker is recovering from his injuries after he was allegedly stabbed by a fellow seasonal worker in their shared accommodation Monday evening in Kelowna.
At 8:18 PM, RCMP and paramedics arrived at an orchard on Old Vernon Road to find the victim conscious and suffering from a stab wound to his back.
The injury was believed to be non-life threatening in nature, and the man was taken to hospital, where he successfully underwent emergency surgery.
The suspect, a 29-year-old man, was arrested at the scene without incident, and remains in police custody on potential charges.
“RCMP continue to secure the crime scene, as investigators with the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section await a warrant to search the property and gather physical evidence,” says RCMP Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey.
Any further witnesses to the incident are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
