A tip from the public has led to the arrest of a 30 year-old man wanted on a number of outstanding warrants related to weapons and assault charges.
John Aronson was apprehended Tuesday afternoon when Kelowna RCMP members were called to a housing complex in Rutland.
The suspect was spotted as a passenger in a vehicle.
Upon seeing police, Aronson jumped into the drivers seat and attempted to drive off, colliding with a police cruiser and then a tree.
Aronson refused to cooperate and was handcuffed and taken into police custody.
Suffering minor injuries from the airbag deploying from the vehicle, Aronson remains in custody and is awaiting his first court appearance.
