It's the end of May and dry conditions persist across the Okanagan.
Unseasonably hot weather this week has temperatures edging towards the 30 degree mark.
"Unfortunately we are not going to see any significant rainfall in the Okanagan valley until the end of the month. We are expecting a chance of showers Thursday evening and Friday afternoon as well."
Environment Canada's Bobby Sekhon says only 9.9 millimetres of rain has been recorded this month, close to a third of what we saw at the same time last year.
"We are going to see temperatures in the upper 20's and low 30's and it is not until the late part of the weekend and into early next week that we see temperatures further down closer to normals for this time of the year."
The normal for this time of the year is only 21 degrees.
Last June in Kelowna, 30..9 millimetres fell, so things are looking up as the calender turns.
