McHappy Day raised a total of $51,640 dollars in the Central Okanagan - that's a new record.
McDonald's spokesperson Rena Krell says where ever she went yesterday, she encountered a lot of people and nothing but love, and she tears up everytime she looks at the number.
Krell says the total was about $6,000 above last year's amount.
50% of all money raised from McHappy Day goes to Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver.
Last year, 117 Kelowna families took advantage of the facility with an average stay of 13 nights.
The other half stay right here at the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club.
