The federal Liberals have propsed billions in new spending to help Canadian businesses and workers make it through the winter, and to help the country recover from the pandemic.
Associate Minister of Finance Mona Fortier, spoke to AM1150 News about some of the supports for Canadian families.
"We've also announced that we will be giving immediate support to families with young children." Fortier said. "Up to $1200 in 2021, for each child under six through the Canada Child Benefits."
Fortier also says she knows many sectors are suffering, like tourism, the arts and culture, and hospitality.
And there are additional investments for hard hit industries.
