This year's flooding left damage to parts of Mission Creek where restoration work had been done last year.
That work revolved around creekside dikes, which were set back to develop a natural floodplain.
Next week, crews will start to rebuild and stabilize berms along the old dike footprint, to minimize erosion.
As well, three meander notches, which were built to enhance the spawning and rearing habitat for fish, will be modified.
The Mission Creek Greenway dike between Casorso and Gordon will stay open, though people are asked to stay away from heavy equipment, which will be in use from August 21 to 23, and again in October.
