A high pressure ridge is headed our way bringing with it warm daytime highs - and unseasonably warm overnight lows.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Doug Lundquist says it's expected to begin clearing Monday evening when a ridge of high pressure arrives.
"If it were summertime it'd be close to 40 degree weather - it's that strong. The problem is at this time of year the sun has no power, so the valley will get into the low to mid teens," he says.
By Thursday and Friday, he says daytime highs will struggle to reach 10 degrees - but it should remain fairly mild overnight with lows around plus-5.
Lundquist says it'll actually be warmer in the high terrain over the next few days.
"My fear is we'll start to set-up with that low cloud like we get towards November in the valley bottom, and the high terrain may actually be nicer than the valley bottom. This doesn't bode very well for skiing though because any snow that's in the mountains will try melting over the next few days," he says.
The normal high for this time of year is 10 - the normal low around minus 1.
