Kelowna RCMP are turning to the public as they continue their investigation into an armed robbery at a local motel Friday evening in Kelowna.
On November 17, 2017 just after 9 pm, RCMP responded to the scene after they received a report of a robbery just committed at the Super 8 Motel located in the 2500 block of Highway 97 in Kelowna. Police have determined that a masked male entered the motel lobby carrying a reusable shopping bag and brandishing a knife. The suspect threatened to harm the lone front desk clerk and demanded money.
The suspect fled the motel on foot with an un-disclosed amount of cash to a vehicle waiting nearby.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, in his mid to late 20’s, 5’6 to 5’8” tall, approximately 125 pounds, with brown eyes and a thin face. He was seen wearing a pair of light blue jeans, a dark coloured athletic jacket, white sneakers, a white or cream coloured Hurley hat with dark emblem, a light coloured bandana over his face and a pair of black gloves.
“Although the victim was physically pushed by the suspect during the robbery, she was not physically harmed,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “Our investigation continues at this time as we process physical evidence secured at the scene.”
