Two vehicles were involved.
When officers arrived, they discovered a Cadillac SUV had been travelling east bound on Harvey Avenue and collided with a Honda Accord travelling north bound on Cooper Road. The driver of the Honda Accord, a 30-year-old male from Burnaby, was transported by the BC Ambulance Service to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The other driver sustained minor injuries.
The scene of the crash was closed for several hours for processing but has since re-opened. Investigators are currently in the midst of trying to identify potential witnesses and canvassing the area for video surveillance in an effort to determine what caused the collision.
“While it is early in the investigation, drugs and alcohol are not factors in this crash,” says Cpl. Meghan Foster of the Kelowna RCMP. “A woman who spoke with the responding paramedics, identified herself as a witness to the crash. To advance this investigation, officers would like this woman to contact the Kelowna RCMP.”
