Kelowna RCMP and emergency crews have been having a busy Wednesday afternoon responding to multiple collisions on Highway 33, just East of Kelowna.
This has caused the Highway to be temporarily closed in both directions.
The roads are being described as extremely icy, ever since temperatures dropped below zero in the last few weeks. This has made highway delays and closures a common occurrence in the Okanagan area.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down, adjust their following distance, and either take their time while driving along the highways or delay their travel plans entirely until conditions improve.
Road closures can be monitored by the public at www.drivebc.ca.
