NDP leader John Horgan has released a video promising to freeze BC Hydro rates if his party ousts the Liberals after 16 years in power.
Rates increased 9% at the beginning of this month, and BC Hydro has said it planned to boost rates another 16.5% over the next four years.
In laying out part of his election platform today, Horgan also repeated a promise to eliminate tolls on the Port Mann and Golden Ears bridges in Metro Vancouver and $10-dollar-a-day childcare.
He says that in addition to making life more affordable, the New Democrats will invest in health care and education and create thousands of good paying jobs in all corners of BC if they win the May 9th election.
