Homeowners can now get up to $5,000 for installing energy-saving improvements.
CleanBC's Better Buildings program aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by making it easier for residents to choose energy-saving products.
Premier John Horgan says homes with no improvements or that are using an existing oil furnace or low efficiency gas furnace, are eligible for higher grants.
“Those rebates help people right away in terms of the increase of the efficiency in their home but over the long term it also helps them with their energy costs. They get to save money, they get to save the planet and we get to create new businesses and new opportunities around BC.”
Total potential rebates were increased by $1,000 each, to $3,000 for better heat pumps and $2,000 for improvements to windows and doors.
