A new middle school will be built in Kelowna's Mission area - the first in that fast-growing neighbourhood.
The $36.1-million Okanagan Mission Junior Middle School will be located on Frost Road and will have space for 750 Grades 6 to 8 students - and also a neighbourhood learning centre.
The province will provide most of the funding for the 3-storey building, with the Central Okanagan School District chipping in a million dollars towards construction costs.
Work is expected to start this fall and be completed by September 2019.
The district acquired the property in 2013 at a cost of $2-million.
