A Kelowna man has been released by local RCMP following an overnight police raid.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, Kelowna RCMP members stormed a home in the 2300-block of Longhill Road with the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team.
Armed with a search warrant, officers deployed tear gas canisters into the home before raiding the premises.
“A single occupant was located inside the home during the warrant execution, and he was taken into police custody without any incident.” said Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey.
Police recovered an undisclosed amount of suspected illicit drugs along with a pair of replica firearms.
The suspect, a 64-year-old Kelowna man, was later released by Kelowna RCMP without charges.
Officers say the investigation is ongoing.
