Fortis BC has released an update following the Enbridge pipeline rupture near Prince George on Tuesday.
They say the two main lines that were impacted are the ones that serve customers in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, although the full extent to which they'll be affected remains to be seen.
At this point, seventy percent of the 1 million Fortis customers still have the potential to temporarily lose gas supply due to the incident.
With this in mind, customers are asked to limit their use of natural gas, which can be done by turning off their thermostat, leaving their fire place off, and keeping their shower times short.
In the meantime, Fortis will be bringing in gas through the TransCanada Line from Alberta, and activating their Tilbury and Mt. Hayes natural gas plants.
