After days of heat - the rains came in Kelowna yesterday.
Marla Catherall, with the BC Wildfire Service, says there's always concern about possible lightning strikes during storms - but there are no reports of new fires..
"We haven't had any lightning strikes in the last 24 hours in the Kamloops Fire Centre," says Catherall. "Thankfully with the cooler temperatures and precipitation that we've been experiencing in some areas of the Kamloops Fire Centre - that's definitely helped."
She says 23 firefighters are now mopping-up the Wolf Cub Creek fire near Oliver.
"It is estimated at 5.1 hectares, but it's classified as 'Under Control,'" says Catherall. "At this point the fire is 100 percent guarded, and the crews are working on searching for remaining hot spots and extinguishing them."
Catherall also says evacuation orders and alerts have been lifted around the 27-square kilometre Allie Lake wildfire northwest of Kamloops - it's now 35-percent contained - and the 5-square-kilometre Who-shum Creek fire, west of Lillooet, is also 35-percent contained.
Crews are also making headway on the Tommy Lakes fire north of Fort St. John.
