Kelowna RCMP say they arrested a prolific offender on Monday after an off-duty officer spotted the man biking and entering into private driveways
It happened just after 4:30am in the area of Lakeshore Road and Dehart Avenue.
When the officer contronted the suspect he attempted to flee the area on his bike, but lost control and fell to the ground, spilling a number of suspected stolen property onto the road.
The man was arrested and found in possession of a bag full of car keys, key fobs and suspected break-in tools.
47-year-old David Martin faces several charges, including breaching probation, and is expected to appear in court next week.
Police say they have seen a notable increase in the amount of reported theft from cars and urge residents to avoid keeping valuables inside their parked car.
Theey are making efforts to return suspected stolen property to it's rightful owner.
