A man who hit an RCMP officer and fled the scene is facing multiple charges.
At about 10:00 Thursday morning, officers were called out to Wilden, where a man had passed out behind the wheel of a running car.
The officer who woke the driver up was hit by the car when the man sped off, instead of turning off the engine and cooperating.
The policeman suffered minor injuries as a result.
From there, the driver led Lake Country police through a 10 minute chase that ended with him driving over a spike belt, crashing into a marked cruiser, and sliding into the ditch.
Though he tried to keep running, police caught up and arrested him soon after.
He's expected to face charges that include assaulting an officer, dangerous driving, and running from police.
