Federal Conservatives are apologizing to Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan after a BC group called "Okanagan Conservatives'' posted a harsh comment about him on its Facebook page.
Alongside a critical news article about Sajjan - the group posted the comment - "This is what happens when you have a cabinet based on affirmative action.''
On the AM 1150 Early Edition today - Okanagan Conservative MP Dan Albas says the party wants passionate people - but this went over the line.
"I immediately contacted the riding association and expressd my concerns, and they agreed that it did not meet the bar and immediately took it down. We'll be looking to do better in the future," said Albas. "We do rely on volunteers to be able to communicate, but there has to be some of those standards met - and that clearly wasn't the case."
Sajjan says he's heartened by the response, but taken aback by the initial comments.
