Long time West Kelowna Councillor Rosalind Neis is attending the Union of BC Municipalities Convention this week in Whistler.
Neis spoke about the benefits of attending the five day conference.
"It is a real opportunity for the front line politicians, as I call them, the municipal politicians to hear about what is working and what is not working in the rest of the province. We don't need to study everything to death as mostly every issue has already been addressed."
West Kelowna Mayor Doug Findlater plans on meeting with several provincial ministers including Health Minister Adrian Dix.
"It is a good opportunity for the networking with the provincial side and an information seeking for local councillors and mayors", Neis added.
In total, West Kelowna has five representatives at the UBCM convention, with mayor Colin Basran, councillor Gail Given and city manager Doug Gilchrist voicing the concerns of Kelowna.
