Wildfire crews are dealing with not one, but two small fires near Big White.
Both are about 12 kilometres southeast from the ski resort. One is currently just .002 hectares in size while the other is .8 hectares.
“The larger one was caused by lightning,” says Karlie Shaughnessy with the Southeast Fire Centre “and then the crews found a smaller fire to the north of it, and that was, it looked like a person caused fire.”
There are 3 wildfire fighters on site of the smaller fire and 6 wildfire fighters on site of the larger one. Air support is not being used at this time.
Neither fire is threatening any structures.
