Parts of Mission Creek Regional Park adjacent to Springfield Road will be closed for one day on Saturday, November 16.
This includes the entrance to the park at Durnin Road, some of the parking area, the washroom facilities and the playground in the north-west end of the park.
The closure will allow crews to complete asphalt paving of a new accessible pathway providing a park experience for those of all ages and abilities.
Access to the Mission Creek Greenway and the east end of the park will still be available from the Leckie Road park entrance.
The park will reopen fully on Sunday, November 17.
If crews are unable to complete work because of heavy rainfall, the closure will be rescheduled to Tuesday, November 19.
While the park is closed, residents are encouraged to explore any of the other 30 Regional Parks that protect over 2,100 hectares of land across the Central Okanagan.
