The area in Peachland, where a mudside came down on Highway 97 on January 6th, has been stabilized - it happened just north of Antlers Beach.
However, Renfrew Road between Renfrew Court and Sherburn Road is still closed to local traffic only, and personnel remain on site to monitor the situation and provide traffic control. .
The District says engineers are still working to determine the cause of the slide which forced the highway to close a lane.
The ruptured sewer main has been isolated and service has been restored - on a limited basis - to most customers, but the District of Peachland is requesting residents in the Renfrew Road, Ferguson Place, Sherburn Road , Stuart Crescent and 6469 – 6544 Bulyea Avenue areas reduce their water and sewer use as much as possible (minimal flushing, showers, laundry, dishwasher use) until further notice.
