On February 28, 2018 Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs encourage everyone to practice kindness, compassion and understanding and to make every effort to help everyone in our community feel a sense of belonging.
As part of the celebration Boys and Girls Clubs is hosting their 4th Annual Kick- off Pink Shirt Day breakfast presented by TELUS at the Laurel Packinghouse, with food prepared by the Okanagan College Culinary Arts Team. Mayor Basran will proclaim the day as Pink Shirt Day-Kindness Day, and the event will feature special guest speaker Beth Hanishewski, a renowned coach, speaker and writer whose focus is on relationships.
Beth will be speaking on Resiliency in the Real World. In a world where we all experience both sides of life - the great and the not-so-great moments there is one quality above all others that determines our success in life: resiliency. Thriving is pretty easy when things are going well but the ability to thrive in times of adversity, pressure and strife comes down your daily habits.
