Kelowna RCMP are investigating after a woman's car was hit by a possible stray bullet last week.
Police initially responded shortly before 5 PM on Thursday, July 12th, after receiving a report of suspicious and possibly negligent activity. They learned that, at approximately 12:30 PM that same afternoon, the woman was driving in the intersection of Benvoulin Road and Beetlestone Drive when she heard a loud bang to the side of the car.
She initially thought that a rock had hit her car, but was shocked when she instead found a bullet hole in the door of her Nissan Sentra. It was then that she called the police.
“Forensic investigators have seized the bullet, since recovered from the woman’s vehicle, for examination, as they look for clues to hopefully help them identify the person who may be behind this reckless incident,” says RCMP Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey.
Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, or remain anonymous by leaving a tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
