The body discovered near Penticton earlier this week was a 27-year-old man from Kelowna.
Penticton RCMP has confirmed the man was the victim of a homicide.
Police say the identity of the man and the cause of death won't be released until the autopsy is complete, which is scheduled for Monday.
The body was discovered near Willowbrook Road, south of Highway 3A Tuesday evening.
A pick-up truck, stolen from West Kelowna earlier this month, was also found in the area, abandoned and on fire, but police say it's unknown at this point if it is connected to the homicide.
