Kelowna RCMP say they're trying to catch a man who's believed to have started at least five nuisance fires in town over the last couple weeks.
At about 11 am on Monday, police got calls about a man starting a fire at the corner of Springfield and Burtch, before he ran east on Springfield, and was last seen cutting from a parking lot into an orchard.
Back on September 14, a fire was started with wooden pallets behind the 7/11 at Gordon and Bernard, which damaged a duplex behind it.
On September 19, police were called to a building near Baron and Banks before 3 am, where two dumpster fires had been set.
Two days later, police were called to one of the businesses on Banks Road, between Enterprise and 97, where a small fire had been set overnight.
That same day on Highway 97 just south of Leckie, a person walking past was able to put out a small debris fire on the sidewalk.
The suspect is described as a 5 ft 7 white man with average build, with brown hair and a brown goatee.
He was wearing a grey hoodie, dark pants and shoes, along with sunglasses.
