A police stand-off at a mobile home park - on the border of Kelowna and Lake Country - ended peacefully last night.
Kelowna RCMP Constable Jesse O'Donaghey says the incident began at around 7:00 pm after police received a call about a distraught man who may have been armed.
O'Donaghey says a man was arrested just after 11:00 pm by the RCMP Emergency Response Team, assisted by the Kelowna RCMP Police Dog Services section.
"The suspect was immediately assessed medically at the scene by BC Emergency Health Services and later transported to hospital where he was cleared to be held in custody. He remains in police custody at this time and faces potential charges," says O'Donaghey.
Officers seized a loaded gun inside the man's home on Beaver Lake Road - and police may conduct a further search of the property as the investigation continues.
No-one was hurt during the stand-off.
