The Independent Investigations Office is looking into an incident involving West Kelowna RCMP.
Wednesday morning (Sept 26), police used a spike belt to stop a stolen pickup truck, in the Lambly Lake, area and arrested a man and a woman with the help of a canine unit.
A 24-year-old woman, and 32-year-old man, were taken to the Kelowna RCMP Detachment - where a short time later they became unresponsive.
They were given immediate medical assistance and taken to hospital - there's no word on their current conditions.
The I-I-O is now investigating to determine whether police actions - or inactions - were linked to their medical distress.
