The Royal Canadian Legion has launched its annual poppy campaign.
John Cashin, poppy chairman at the Kelowna branch, says there's more than enough of the red flowers to go around.
"This year, I have 210,000 poppies in stock," says Cashin. "About 160,000 of those will be gone by the end of the poppy campaign on November 11th."
The money raised through these poppies goes straight towards helping Canada's veterans, whether that involves help with rent or supplies, or even their grandchildren's college or university tuition.
In addition to the hundreds of poppy station across the City, you can also make a contribution online. By making a donation at mypoppy.ca, you'll receive a digital poppy, in remembrance of a veteran of your choosing.
