Postal Union rotating strikes have hit the Okanagan Valley. Picket lines have been set up at Canada Post facilities from Winfield to Peachland. No mail will move in or out of our area for 24 hours.
CUPW 760 President Matthew Aitken says, "We're looking for a fair contract. We've got brothers and sisters off the job in Toronto again today as well." Aitken adds, "Or walkouts break links in the Canada Post chain. They don't know what we'll do next so the disruption is pressure on them to settle our dispute."
The local walkout began at 6 this morning and unless new instructions come down from the national union office, it will end tomorrow morning at 6.
