Extermely high winds knocked out power to some 70,000 people in BC last night and the Okanagan was no exception.
The Upper Mission area of Kelowna was hardest hit in our area, with about 1600 customers losing power for several hours.  About 70 customers near south Lakeshore Road may experience continuing interruptions until about 8:30 Wednesday morning.
Fortis BC spokesperson Trevor Wales says the high winds brought trees down onto power lines.
