A crowd was out in front of The Sails on Bernard Avenue in Kelowna Monday - World Day for Laboratory Animals.
Karen Stiewie, who organzed the protest, says she's calling out UBC in Vancouver and the University of BC Okanagan.
"We would like more transparency. We don't really know what's going on with these animals. But what we do know is that there are 185,000 animals used in research and who die annually at UBC," she says.
Stiewie is sending post cards to federal Attorney-General Jody Wilson-Raybould in an effort to raise government awareness about animal testing.
