The provincial government is announcing 55 new campsites that are being opened up in the Okanagan this summer.
30 of those sites have been added to the Badger Lake Rec site north of Kamloops, with another 17 sites at the Scuitto Rec Site south of the city.
Another eight sites have been added to Okanagan Lake South Provincial Park near Summerland.
Back in November, the Premier had announced it would work to add 1900 new campsites across BC over the next five years.
The added sites in the Okanagan are a part of the first phase of that plan, which has also added 58 new sites to Blanket Creek Provincial Park near Revelstoke, and 20 sites to the Halfway Hot Springs Site near Nakusp.
