After a warm, sunny week with temperatures in the twenties, Kelowna could be in for some showers over the weekend.
From Saturday to Sunday, five to ten millimeters of rain is expected, and temperatures may drop under the twenties.
This is due to a low pressure system arriving from the coast and interrupting the ridge of high pressure that has been bringing warmer temperatures to Kelowna.
But Environment Canada meteorologist Cindy Yu says that may not last long, and next week could be another warm one.
“It does look like, by mid-week the (high pressure system) will build back in, bringing us some temperatures in the twenties again,” says Yu.
As far as the higher elevations go, no snowfall is expected for the highways around Kelowna, but there still could be some snowfall on the mountaintops.
